This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it! “Lady” by Kenny Rogers was my second choice for my wedding’s first dance. Now I got a friend of mine in love with this song, so it will be her first dance on Sept. 30th, 2012!!

There is nothing better than this…this is music for the soul, music that feeds you, makes you feel, makes you love, understand and forgive…

“Lady, I’m your knight in shining armor and I love you
You have made me what I am and I am yours
My love, there’s so many ways I want to say I love you
Let me hold you in my arms forever moreYou have gone and made me such a fool
I’m so lost in your love
And oh, we belong together
Won’t you believe in my song?Lady, for so many years I thought I’d never find…

Something is wrong with me. She already made her choice and she didn’t choose me. And it was final and clear agreement between us, that I should abandon any romantic thoughts toward her, if I want to be her friend. But somehow I forgot it… First I just played, to catch her, but it seems that I were the one who got caught again. I keep hoping, keep flirting, and chasing her. I create expectations that she can’t fulfill. I got used to talk with her, and I enjoy it sometimes very much, and I miss her if she isn’t there. But she doesn’t choose me, she doesn’t want me, and nothing changed. She won’t even talk to me, unless I’ll start talk to her. In last couple days I feel weak. I became mad and jealous, when she added a new male friend to her friend list. But I understand…

I should preface this by saying that I know the ceremony last night was not all bad, and I also acknowledge that the closing ceremony is not there to do the same job as the opening ceremony. But anyway, here goes.

As a newly minted commuter into London I will happily admit that, three weeks ago, I was looking forward to the Olympics with a sense of trepidation. Horror story predictions about the transport system abounded, security was a massive issue, and whenever it was discussed the conversations usually ended with a slight sigh and the phrase “I’m sure it won’t be that bad”.

And then it started. The opening ceremony was, in my opinion, fantastic: an imaginative, sweeping vista showing the world what Britain is all about. Or, maybe, should be all about.

The following two weeks of athletics was the only Olympics I remember being interested in. I…

The Unusual Element

Hey everybody!! Oh my goodness this week has been crazy! Sorry for the lack of updates, but i just got laser eye sugary so I could not go on the computer!

Last week the end to something great. Me and my amazing friend(and photographer) received our diploma in Fine Arts! It was such a good night and everybody looked amazing!

Here I am wearing my faithful Taro card tank from Aritzia and a nice A line skirt that is forest green, from American Apparel! I recently just purchased these fantastic brown leather wedges from aldo which i love (minus the fact they make me about 6 feet tall haha). I love this outfit. Its great for summer and is super flattering!

Here is my great friend Claire! I love her so much, I am happy that we graduated but will miss the long day spent at school with her!…

Over the Hedge

This is pretty good. But you know what would have made it better?  Cut Hammy and RJ’s lines in the last panel and just have Phil burp.  We saw Phil eat Bob and it’s implied they’re all going to die.  This is what happens when the writer and the illustrator are different people.

Or what happens when you write so close to deadline there’s no time to go over roughs.

Over the Hedge: Cartoons hot off the griddle without all that fancy “cooking” you might expect.

While researching for another article, I came upon some of my favorite quotes. Among them are a few from Plato, the Greek Philosopher.

My dad has adopted this one for himself: The Golden Rule: He who has the gold makes the rules.

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you will end up being governed by your inferiors.

The greatest wealth is to live content with little.

There are three classes of men: lovers of wisdom, lovers of honor and lovers of gain.

This, and no other is the root from which a tyranny springs-when he first appears he is a protector

Do you find yourself being drawn back inexorably to photographing the same subjects over and over again?

Last month my friend and mentor Cindy D. “outed” me in a wonderful postingon her blog. She confessed that “we’ve become a little obsessed with photographing Red milkweed beetles (Tetraopes tetraophthalmus).” (She also published some interesting facts about the beetles in another blog posting.) She’s right, of course, in her assessment of me, but I might quibble with her on one point. Is it possible to be only a “little” obsessed?

What are the symptoms of my obsession? After work today, in between thunder and rain storms, I rushed to Green Spring Gardens to take some photos. I shot a few flowers but I couldn’t resist the pull of the milkweed plants. I know exactly  where they are located in the gardens and I know if I look hard…
